Founded in the early 20th century, Winter Haven grew from citrus groves and train stops into a flourishing Florida destination. It became world-renowned not only for its chain of sparkling lakes and water ski history, but also as a spring training hub for legends like Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.
The citrus empire, led by pioneers like John A. Snively, once powered the state’s economy and helped shape the community’s identity.
